Directions hair dye comes in a 88ml pot, which is usually enough for shoulder length hair (though there maybe a little left in the pot which is perfect for doing roots with). The most effective method of application is by using a tinting brush; which Directions have made their own that fits perfectly in the pot, however most other tinting brushes are usually fine.
Like most other hair dyes Directions hair dye doesn't come with protective gloves , so you might want to get some if you're not using a tinting brush (or even if you are), as directions can stain skin and clothes , although shampoo or washing up liquid normally removes it from skin. If you want to be extra safe it is a good idea to apply vaseline round your hair line , ears, and the back of your neck before using directions hair colour, as any spillages on the skin will be wiped away with the vaseline after dyeing.
